ON BEHALF of Waterford Ógra Fianna Fáil I wish to say that the proposal to drop ‘The Republican Party’ from Fianna Fáil’s full title is a disgrace and a denial of all that the great forefathers of Fianna Fáil stood for.

I am proud to be linked to that tradition of republicanism that is Fianna Fáil. Our party stands for the republic as declared at Easter 1916.

The republic lives in the hearts of all our party members. We should not shy away form what our hearts know to be true.
