Minister should heed Machiavelli’s warning

I DON’T know if Machiavelli is on Health Minister Micheal Martin’s required reading list but, if not, he should be since he has many wise things to say about the nature of politics.

Here is what he has to say to The Prince on a subject that must be on the Minister's mind at present:
