Only one mistake?

BETTY HARRINGTON (Irish Examiner letters, April 23) accuses TP O’Mahony of having a “brass neck to imply that the Holy Spirit made a mistake” in guiding the conclave of cardinals selecting the new Pope.

Would it be equally brass-necked to suggest that the Holy Spirit may have made a mistake in guiding two of the participants in the conclave Cardinal Bernard Law and Cardinal Desmond Connell on how to deal with child sexual abuse scandals in the prelates' respective dioceses? It seems that someone's not infallible.
