ONLY a few weeks ago, four civilians were hauled out of their vehicle in Fallujah, beaten to death, cremated and hacked to pieces by a mob of Iraqis.

Finally they were hung from a bridge, to the delight of the local population.

There was little or no condemnation of the people or the political culture responsible for this act.
