The West’s asleep

ONLY a few weeks ago, four civilians were hauled out of their vehicle in Fallujah, beaten to death, cremated and hacked to pieces by a mob of Iraqis.

Finally they were hung from a bridge, to the delight of the local population.

There was little or no condemnation of the people or the political culture responsible for this act.

Now evidence of mistreatment of Iraqi prisoners has surfaced.

It does not even come near the abuse meted out to the troops on a daily basis, but the West bows and grovels to the Arab world which condones, and in many cases financially supports, the Islamic fundamentalists whose aim is the destruction of western society.

We need to wake up and reject the anti- American (and now conveniently, anti-British) line that is being peddled at present.
