Road complaints going nowhere

NOW that Dublin's traffic problems have been officially labelled as the world’s worst (with the hardly redeeming exception of Calcutta) it is a little disconcerting to see such widespread whingeing and nimbyism every time an attempt is made to wake the city from its infrastructural nightmare.

While cynicism is often well-founded in this country, there is at least solace to be found in the prospect of impending improvements LUAS, the Port Tunnel, the completed M50 and multiple subsidiary road projects.

Complaining about not being allowed to use O'Connell Street as a thoroughfare of convenience is like an obese child throwing a tantrum when denied chocolate.
