Abuse of democracy

THE Government rejected our democratic decision after the Nice Referendum and assured European bureaucrats that the same treaty would be put before us again.

This unprecedented abuse of the democratic process will have serious consequences for Irish and European democracy in the future.

In effect, those who vote ‘yes’ this time will be accepting this dangerous situation, while voting ‘no’ will make it clear that people will not be bullied into giving up their democratic rights.
