Roundabout work set to commence

TOM WOOD (Irish Examiner letters May 10) asks who is responsible for safety at the Dunkettle roundabout near Cork city.

Roundabout work set to commence

The answer is the NRA. This problem I have pursued with them via Cork County Council over the past five years.

In a report to a special purposes committee meeting of the county council recently, members were advised that “documents for the improvement of the Dunkettle junction, which includes tenders for road widening and the provision of traffic signals, are completed and will be issued in the next few weeks. It is proposed to undertake the works during the summer period while the schools and colleges are on holidays and the peak hours traffic volumes are lower”.
