SF rejects Labour charge on tenancies

AS Sinn Féin spokesperson on environment, heritage and local government I wish to respond to the article (Irish Examiner, May 12) quoting Deputy Eamon Gilmore of Labour.

The article was to the effect that Sinn Féin did not bother tabling amendments to the Residential Tenancies Bill 2003.

Deputy Gilmore is well aware that Sinn Féin does not have a seat on the environment and local government committee and therefore is not permitted under Dáil standing orders to submit amendments at committee stage.
