Wheelchair victim of new Christmas spirit

I WONDER where Cork’s Christmas spirit was one day this week when a young man buying gifts for family and friends was accidentally knocked from his wheelchair – not once, but twice –

What’s even sadder is that virtually nobody stopped to help, leaving him sprawled in both the street and a major store.

In this season of peace and goodwill, is it not an appalling indictment of our society and further evidence that our priorities have shifted beyond all recognition?

Perhaps Scrooge was right after all.

Christmas? Bah, humbug!
