WE in the Irish National Organisation of the Unemployed take exception to your simplistic comments about those who are jobless (Irish Examiner editorial, August 4).

The vast majority of the unemployed want to work, if suitable work is available for them in their area.

Tens of thousands of them took up jobs when they were generated during the Celtic Tiger period.
