Don’t tackle Big Brother — he’s got you tagged

I WOULD like to express my deep admiration for Justice Minister Michael McDowell whose fervour in confronting the wrongdoers of our society should be applauded by all decent people.

I was particularly delighted to hear of his plan to electronically tag convicted miscreants, including those involved in public order offences.

I hope this bold decision will induce the socially impaired to a more stalwart existence. I fear, however, that the libertarians among us might think to prevent this country becoming the ordered society we deserve, or even that Mr McDowell's imagination might not measure up to the task.
