I’m seeking a lead on my Irish ancestry

AM a descendant of Owen Geary who lived in Cork city in the late 1700s and early 1800s. His wife was a Catherine McCarthy, and he was a member of St Finbarr’s RC South Chapel.

Owen and Catherine had 12 children and one of them Peter was my four times great-grandfather.

He is believed to have left Cork in May 1834 and arrived in St John's in July 1834, on board the Levant Star. He was listed as 32 years of age and travelling possibly with his brother and an 18-year-old named Abbey, whose identity is unknown.

Peter died in 1871, aged 73, in Pittsburgh, Pennsyvania, where his son, William, married an Irishwoman named Annie Montgomery in 1862.

They had close ties to another Irishman, James Duane. They were neighbours in Pittsburgh and, after Peter died in 1871, they moved their families to Steubenville, Ohio.

I would appreciate information from any reader with knowledge of my Geary forebears.
