Does Liz want a State takeover of the Church?

THE recent attacks on the Catholic Church by Liz O’Donnell should be greeted with alarm and dismay by all those committed to the creation of a pluralist and tolerant society.

These attacks go beyond normal criticism and call into question the right of a major religion to exist independently and without State control.

Ms O’Donnell’s description of the “special relationship” that exists between the Catholic Church and the State almost beggars belief.
