WE are writing to add our voices to the concerns expressed by many regarding the recent Immigration Bill, which has been, rightly, denounced as bad law, out of step with equivalent legislation elsewhere and dangerously lacking in any form of monitoring.

The haste with which this bill is being rushed through without any period of consultation and with official

advisory bodies such as the National Consultative Committee on Racism & Interculturalism (NCCRI) and the Human Rights Commission expressed severe reservations displays a complete contempt for democracy.
