I CONGRATULATE the Irish Examiner on its bestselling book ‘100 Years of News’ not because I have a vested interest, but because it is a good read from cover to cover.

Book of news earns its place in bestsellers

The vested interest arises out of events in 1952 when an Irish nun was killed in East London, South Africa.

Sister Aidan (Dr Elsie Quinlan) was a cousin of mine, and at the time of her death was going to the aid of wounded natives arising out of the riots mentioned in the book.
