Couples pay a price — financial and emotional — for planning refusals

YOU reported (Irish Examiner, June 25) that Cork county council granted planning permission for more than one-eight of all homes approved countrywide during the first quarter of this year.

The statistics are amazing, particularly when so many young couples and others are refused planning permission to build a family home.

In recent times I have had seven such refusals, all seeking to build a family home. I deal with these problems all too frequently.
