Who protects the farming sector?

I FIND it amazing that financial adviser Eddie Hobbs and the head of the Competition Authority, John Fingleton, find it politically correct to attack the Groceries Order.

This is when EU consumers are spending only 15% of their disposable income on food - of which the farmer gets only 1%.

Food prices have actually fallen in the last year, by around 0.4%. House prices have multiplied by at least 20 in the past 20 years. What we farmers get for our produce has remained the same.
