Conference boost for post workers

AT the recent annual conference of the Civil Public & Services Union in Killarney, our motion from the An Post branch was passed unanimously.

Conference boost for post workers

It stated that “we will not enter into any negotiations on a new national wage agreement until the An Post workers receive the Sustaining Progress in full”

This will help press our claim for what it rightfully ours - the whole three stages of the Sustaining Progress pay agreement - now worth 7.2% - that has been denied us by the Government.

All we are asking for is what everybody else in the country has received - justice and fair play. Only one other company - a small, private sector enterprise employing 14 people - has pleaded ‘inability to pay’ under that obnoxious clause in the pay agreement.

Hopefully now our CPSU leaders will stand behind this unanimous decision of the annual conference and not accept any new pay deal behind closed doors without first ensuring that An Post workers are paid our 7.2% in full, and fully backdated.
