Legal fiction of the ‘Miami Five’

I WISH to bring your readers’ attention to the little known case of five Cuban prisoners being held in American prisons on outrageous and fictitious charges.

Legal fiction of the ‘Miami Five’

The ‘Miami Five’ are held on trumped up charges of espionage against the US government. One is also being held for conspiracy to murder.

All of these charges are ridiculous, and would not stand up in any reasonable court of law. Indeed the men’s trial bordered on the farcical when the defence was denied access to much of the ‘evidence’ against their clients because of so-called national security concerns.

The reality is that these men were in Miami infiltrating the right-wing groups that use America as a base to launch terrorist attacks against Cuba.

These terrorist organisations, such as Alpha 66, Omega 7 and Brothers to the Rescue, have been responsible for the murder of 3,478 people since 1959, and more than 2,000 have ended up with serious injuries. These terrorist groups are trained, financed, directed and sustained by the CIA.

All these men did was try to protect their country.

The hypocritical American administration must stop harbouring terrorist organisations and the five Cuban patriots must be released immediately to return home.
