The ‘myth’ lives on

ACCORDING to Lawrence O’Brien (Irish Examiner letters, November 15), it is time to call into question the ‘farcical myth’ of the 1916 Rising.

I thought such questioning has been carried out relentlessly by revisionists since the 1960s. Still the ‘myth’ lives on.

Perhaps this is because the ideals of the men of 1916 are still cherished by the Irish people?
