Hanafin challenged to deliver rest of the list
1. School projects going to design this year
2. Schools participating in devolved funding.
3. Schools to be included in the summer works scheme.
We asked Ms Hanafin, at a meeting with her on December 13, to issue an extra list namely, the list of schools for which her department plans to buy sites for this year (up to 200 schools can't envisage any progress because of lack of the lack of sites). We also challenge the minister to ensure that no child will be educated in a prefabricated classroom after the school year 2009/2010.
We await her announcement, and we wish for a swift resolution to the outstanding accommodation problems for those thousands of primary school pupils and teachers who still find themselves in sub-standard conditions.
