Stalin, Bush and the totalitarian economy

YOUR columnist Rónán Mullen’s criticism of Amnesty International (Irish Examiner, June 22) revealed an absurd political misconception that should come as no surprise by now to anyone with a clear insight as to what is happening in Iraq.

Stalin, Bush and the totalitarian economy

Mr Mullen represents nothing other than a neo-conservative, Christian right ideology an obnoxious and fallacious world view that led him to support the USA's abominable war in Iraq.

Given that George W Bush's grandfather, Prescott Bush, was a key financier of Nazi Germany, it is odd that Mr Mullen should be fixated on Stalin instead of Hitler when trying to play down Bush's crimes against humanity.
