Stalin, Bush and the totalitarian economy
Mr Mullen represents nothing other than a neo-conservative, Christian right ideology an obnoxious and fallacious world view that led him to support the USA's abominable war in Iraq.
Given that George W Bush's grandfather, Prescott Bush, was a key financier of Nazi Germany, it is odd that Mr Mullen should be fixated on Stalin instead of Hitler when trying to play down Bush's crimes against humanity.
Mr Mullen's nonsensical assertions are evident in his dismissal of claims that the US uses torture as a systematic form of interrogation. The fact is that the US has acted in defiance of the Geneva conventions, the World Court and the UN since World War II.
It is common knowledge, even in the States, that the CIA uses torture and the Pentagon is a pathological lying machine.
Nobody knows the full truth about Guantanamo Bay as reporters are not allowed to inspect that 'gulag'.
Of course, we all know what happened when another state without such weapons refused to allow inspections. On Stalin's Soviet Union, Mullen uses the term ' totalitarian economy.'
How then should one describe the Anglo-American model of global economic hegemony? An economic model that refuses to accept the democratic right of impoverished countries to elect socialist leaders so that starving babies can be fed and educated such as Nicaragua and Venezuela.
A 'totalitarian economy' unfettered in the production of weapons of mass destruction and their dissemination throughout the world; a totalitarian economy that requires the geopolitical control of oil-rich countries to consolidate its global control.
Mr Mullen seems to agree with Bono when he says, "don't take people on rumour". Precisely.
