However, has anybody thought to question the credentials of a well- known figure who bestrides the political scene in north-east Ulster and uses the titles ‘Dr’ and ‘Rev,’ famously described by John Hume as being neither a reverend nor a gentleman.

I was surprised at Tánaiste Mary Harney’s comparison between degree mills and honorary doctorates.
