Minister challenged to to a bet on rail traffic

THE proposed closure of two stretches of rail link across Co Tipperary is a disastrous start to the search for an antidote to the over dominance of Dublin.

Dublin-to-Limerick via Nenagh and Roscrea (two major townships) has but two services daily and none on a Sunday. That is a recipe for speedy closure.

The Rosslare Europort service, which joins the main Cork line at Limerick Junction, is in a sorry state two trains daily and none on Sunday.
