Old soldiers must await final reunion
The evenings commenced with Mass at which the battalion colours were paraded and dipped at the Consecration, deceased members were prayed for and the names of those who died since the previous reunion were called out.
Afterwards we had something to eat and retired to the sergeant's mess for a sing-song and to reminisce of the old days. The stories seemed to get better each year.
