Caoimhe should direct her protest at Arafat
But perhaps next time she feels the need to make a political point she should protest against Yasser Arafat and his Palestinian Authority for it is they who have caused the reported 3,000 casualties of the last three-and-a-half years.
The terrible statistics the Palestinians have published highlight how pointless their intifada has been. Meanwhile, the security fence is reducing casualties on both sides and has been doing the job it was intended to do wherever the cement came from.
A permanent agreement with Israel would mean the end of unrest among the Palestinian Arab people and, therefore, the end of Arafat's leadership. But he lives only for 'the struggle' and is incapable of disengaging from it.
Ms Butterly should direct her protests to him and the PLO he is the failed leader who is the real problem not the Israelis or the cement companies.
