Look to the Tiger Woods of American politics

WHAT a depressing thought to be facing four more years of ‘an amadán sa Teach Bán’.

Ironically, our US friends tell us they feel safer with Bush remaining as their president. Very few others share their feelings, particularly not the citizens of Palestine or those who will be the targets of Bush’s next illegal attack on what he chooses as part of the ‘axis of evil’. Neither will the citizens of the Third World who have seen their poverty and disease levels rise, while Bush continues to fight his father’s battles and those of the fundamentalist oil barons who surround him. The one chink of light was the emergence of young Democratic black Senator Barack Obama of Illinois who looks like the Tiger Woods of American politics. Maybe there’s hope yet.
