Time up for pub cash machines
The shortage of cash was at least one reason for drinkers to slow down or drink less, especially in crowded pubs where there is no guarantee of getting back in. This will serve as a significant test of our Health Minister's resolve in tackling what is already a serious national drink problem. The last thing drinkers and especially the partners and children of serious drinkers need is the added temptation of readily available funds.
A simple piece of legislation such as that proposed to ban smoking in pubs is essential before disastrous social consequences force our hand.
