Fishy story from pier to plate

COULD some of the Kinsale restaurateurs please clarify for me the term “pier prices” which occurs on their fish menus.

Is this pier in cloud cuckoo land, or where? Fish prices are the worst in ten years for the commercial fisherman, yet this is not reflected elsewhere.
