There has been a furore in Washington over the administration’s earlier approval of a contact awarded to a Dubai company for the operation of six US ports. Lawmakers devoted the week to congressional hearings, trying their best to kill the deal.

Why such double standards in outward and inward free trade? Is the free trade only for US exports to poor Asian countries?
