Cloning: nature knows best

I REFER to your front page headline ‘I am creating life’ (Irish Examiner, Dec 28).

This statement is attributed to a Ms Brigitte Bosselier, a French chemist and a member of the Raelian sect. In my opinion, they are not creating anything. They are tinkering with the natural life-giving ingredients already created. No amount of scientific jargon or juggling can alter this fact.

Natural reproduction has adequately sustained human life through the ages. We do not need an assault such as cloning on this natural process.
