Astonishing sentence

I have read your report entitled "Woman slashed her children in knife attack" (Irish Examiner, March 11). I am astonished at the leniency of the sentence for such an horrific attack.

I doubt if a man, in similar circumstances, would have received such a forgiving sentence.
