Government jet is a flight of fancy

I SEE our ministers have decided to rid themselves of the ‘lawnmower’ and replace it with something that doesn’t need a jump start, has a decent pair of wings and tyres that roll down a runway while remaining attached to the aircraft.

Tenders are now being sought. New or second-hand, they're not fussy.

Despite the predictable moaning and groaning of the opposition parties regarding the cost, I'd bet if they seized power, seats on board the new craft would hardly be cold before their ample posteriors would be perched comfortably on them. And who wouldn't want to fly? Have you seen our roads lately? I'd certainly fly over them, given the chance.
