Kindness uncorked

YOU often hear that people are not as friendly, helpful or polite as they used to be. In Cork, at least, this is not so.

Kindness uncorked

On Tuesday my tyre blew out as I was driving to Tipperary. Three people stopped to help me. The first gentleman took off the offending pulverised rubber and then found my spare was too soft. He took it to three garages before he could find an air pump that worked. A second man stopped just to shoot the breeze and the third came out of his house to see if I needed any help.

I commend these good samaritans. A donation to the Irish Red Cross, East Africa Appeal, has been made in their honour.
