US now risks being enslaved by abortion

IN response to Rónán Mullen (Irish Examiner, Dec 17), the statements pro and con that I hear on abortion are hauntingly similar to the arguments on slavery that were made here in the early to mid 1800s.

Those who supported slavery made the point that a negro was not fully human, and therefore could be regarded as property.

Those supporting abortion also try to avoid admitting that an unborn baby is a human, so it’s OK to kill it.

The price we paid for slavery was the worst, bloodiest war the United States ever fought. One in four adult males in the south was killed or maimed. Every family in the north had at least one member killed or maimed. I’m terrified at the price the US will eventually have to pay for the slaughter of millions of innocent children.
