Gay marriage: the idea is grotesque

TO me, the concept of gay marriage is grotesque. Recently we have had clerical ordination of gays and consecration of gays as bishops, even the adoption of children by gays.

That implies endorsement of sexual deviance in a heretofore sacrosanct Christian domain.

Worse still, it presents a scandalous recruitment platform for the entrapment in a gay culture of misguided adolescents and unbalanced adults.

Throughout history, a minority indulged in gay and lesbian sexual activities. Within the last half-century, such practices took place in privacy. Consequently, revulsion did not manifest itself among the public at large. Regrettably, homosexuality was legalised in some countries.

Then deviants ‘came out’ and exploited media opportunities publicly to boast of their orientation. Personally, I couldn’t care less what deviants resort to in private, but I abhor the publicity they deliberately generated. In my opinion, if sexual deviants had adhered to their historical low profile they would not have exposed themselves to social disdain.

Believe me, I am not a moral evangelist. But as a family man, a great-grandfather, I feel I must express my views on aberrant sexual behaviour.

I fear for the moral and psychological welfare of my great-grandchildren and their compatriots in a society where turpitude may be par for the course.
