Minister passes the buck on child dental services

I RECENTLY sent a letter to Health Minister and Tánaiste Mary Harney regarding implementation of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health and Children’s recommendations on orthodontic services in June 2005.
Minister passes the buck on child dental services

In particular, I outlined the need to improve the criteria for orthodontic training programmes.

Ms Harney passed my letter on to the Health Service Executive.

If one of the most highly paid health ministers in the EU is either unwilling or unable to make simple decisions which would significantly improve the public health of the orthodontic service, what hope is there for the thousands of children awaiting orthodontic treatment in this country?
