THE growing number of “chuggers” - agents for charities - who are on our streets should be a cause for concern now.

The standard practice is to stop passers-by and attempt to ‘guilt’ them into signing an agreement allowing the charity to take regular payments from their bank accounts.

It may come as a surprise to some that these agents are paid, and are not volunteers.
