IN your article “Tobacco firms’ staff fear smoking ban threatens jobs” (Irish Examiner, September 29) a tobacco industry spokesperson claimed: “We’re involved in manufacturing and selling a legal product.”

When did it become legal to poison people Tobacco is an addictive. When did it become legal to poison people Tobacco is an addictive rug that kills five million users worldwide every year and hundreds of thousands more innocent people that breathed the carcinogens and poisons in tobacco smoke. Tobacco should be banned. You would soon see a marked decrease in death, injuries, property damage, alcoholism and crime. Tobacco is the mother of all chemical weapons.
