We got it right the first time

No to Nice is best. I find it insulting that the Government should be putting another referendum after the emphatic No last time.

We got it right the first time

We should not be cajoled into changing our minds.

Ultimately, a Yes vote will probably mean a European constitution which will over-rule our own.

This could mean legal abortion, euthanasia and other such unchristian things. It is not true to say that we are excluding our east European neighbours from EU membership by a ’no’ vote.

Negotiations are well underway for the admission of these countries no matter how we vote. Neither is it true to say that Ireland will be deprived of EU funds if we vote No.

If we were to vote Yes, we would be one of only four countries allowing immigration from east European countries from day one of their accession to the EU. All member states except Ireland, Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands are not allowing immigration for up to seven years after accession.

This is grossly unfair. A Yes vote will allow an influx of many thousands of immigrants in 18 months.

There is also the question of a European army. How can we remain out of this if we vote Yes?
