IT IS very difficult for many of us in the GAA to understand how our president, Sean Kelly, can leave the door open for an extension of the Guinness sponsorship after December 2006.

GAA should call 'time up' on Guinness

This was while we are co-sponsoring a campaign to change public attitudes towards alcohol consumption.

Brendan Murphy, the national coordinator of the GAA/Department of Health alcohol and substance abuse initiative, accepts that he has a difficult enough task ahead of him without, as has been reported, having "the current sponsorship... thrown in his face".
