Restore neutrality for our own security

THE no-warning bombing attacks on London by suspected Islamic fundamentalists is an indication of what could happen here if the Government continues its military and political alliance with Britain.

Recently the Irish Navel vessel LÉ Eithne took part in the British naval review commemorating the Battle of Trafalgar while, at home, we still allow Shannon airport to be used for US military flights.

In effect, we are now seen to be aiding the US/British war against Iraq. Already the people of Madrid have paid a high price for their country’s co-operation with the so-called coalition of the willing. Now the ordinary people of London are the innocent victims of it all.

The Irish people must call for an end to all political and military collaboration with Britain and the US and we must immediately set about the restoration of our traditional neutrality.
