Slaughter of the innocents

AS president of Junior Chamber International (JCI), the worldwide federation of young leaders and entrepreneurs seeking to advance the global community by creating positive changes, I would like to express our consternation and sorrow at the abhorrent acts of terrorism perpetrated against innocent civilians in London.

We believe, as stated by London Mayor Ken Livingstone, that this was not a terrorist attack against the mighty and the powerful; it was not aimed at presidents or prime ministers; it was aimed at ordinary, working-class Londoners, black and white, Muslim and Christian... young and old. It was an indiscriminate attempt at mass murder.

On behalf of our members, I offer our deepest sympathy and condolences to all the victims and their families and to all the people of London and Britain.
