Put God in the charter

SO the Taoiseach feels it is unlikely that reference to God and Christianity will be included in the charter of the EU constitution. As president of the EU, could he not encourage such inclusion?

We were informed by Tánaiste Mary Harney that we could not voice our opposition to human embryo stem cell research (destruction of human beings for research purposes when the alternative adult stem cell research does not involve the destruction of a human being).

Yet Germany, Italy, Portugal, Austria and Luxembourg spoke out and blocked financing in the EU for such research. When will our leaders have the courage to speak out?
