Schools’ plan illogical

WITH regard to the plans to overhaul the secondary school system (Irish Examiner, September 24) and in particular the plans to increase the school day to 10 hours (from 8am-6pm), I am forced to ask one question.

If 39 hours per week is the most expected of adults in their occupations, why will teenagers be forced to do 50 hours per week?
