Fine banks for keeping customers waiting

THE staff at my local AIB branch are hardworking and friendly – but not even they can offset the shortcomings of the bank’s board of management.

Fine banks for keeping customers waiting

How dare the AIB board treat their customers with such contempt as to allow them to stand in line for up to 15 minutes. If I went into a sweet shop to spend 1 I would be served right away.

The remedy is simple more staff.

It would appear that the most important aim for the banks is to look after their shareholders and to hell with the rest of us.

I look forward to the day when some European bank sets up business here. After being treated like a peon with a begging bowl I will have no qualms about switching banks. Loyalty bonus? Don't make me laugh.

Airlines are now being penalised for keeping their customers waiting. Can this directive apply to banks?
