THE UUP has adopted fish and chips as a symbol of Britishness. How ironic then that David Trimble thinks that he was codded by republicans, when he bears sole responsibility for the latest one that got away.

Clearly, decommissioning was a red herring after all.

David needs to stop carping or the peace process will flounder and the plaice will be taken over by anti-agreement sharks. The omens are not good as Mr Trimble never misses an opportunity to miss an opportunity and always seems to want to fillet the Good Friday Agreement.
