The poor must wait
An unemployed neighbour at home had to endure discomfort for months while awaiting her public health appointment with a specialist.
Finally, she paid for an assessment, and was rushed to hospital, diagnosed with a large, advanced cancerous tumour. The only thing that seems to excite our medical profession - and our politicians who oversee the mess - is the next round of pay negotiations. If Mary Harney can solve such problems, she will deserve a place in heaven.
