WELCOME to the Galway Races as we are at the starting line for the Government Handicap Chase.

And they’re off! Straight into the lead goes Bertie on the back of Celia’s Day; bringing up the rear is Charlie Mac on Lost Money. On the outside Michael Mac with Justice For All. Over the first hurdle and we have a faller, Michael M on Waiting List is stretchered off. Closing in fast down the home straight we have a late starter, Enda K on False Promises. And it’s a photo finish between Celia’s Day and False Promises. Enda K is declared the winner, but after a steward’s inquiry the decision is reversed and Bertie is declared the winner.
