Time to blank out a cryptic commentator
I have no doubt that many readers found themselves nodding in agreement with his criticism of the self-absorbed musings of Keith Nolan on your letters page and on the pages of other publications.
His humourless one-liners have often prompted me to ponder whether Mr Nolan has relatives working at the editorial desks of every newspaper in the country.
Giving credence to pointless one-line letters is an insult to contributors to your pages who put time and effort into their letters in an attempt to provoke discussion, and who don’t pretend to have a sense of humour if they do not.
Surely the one line that Mr Nolan takes up on a regular basis could be put to better use? If not, then I would suggest you leave it blank.
